With more than 45 years of experience in tax planning, estate and trust planning, administration, financial planning, and accounting, Warren M. Bergstein brings seasoned insight and steady guidance to individuals, families, and business owners navigating life's financial complexities.
Warren is President of Warren M. Bergstein CPA, PC and founder of Planning for the Unexpected ®, a firm dedicated to proactive planning for life's transitions. He is also a Principal at AKM Advisors, and previously served as a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, where he worked with clients on complex tax and financial matters.
In addition to his professional practice, Warren is passionate about education. He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Accounting and Taxation at Rutgers University and New Jersey City University and is a frequent speaker for organizations such as the New York State Society of CPAs, Financial Planning Association (NY and Long Island chapters), New York University, Long Island University, and myCPEONE.
Warren is also a contributing author to Marshall Loeb's Money Guide, The CPA Journal, and Taxation, and has been an active member- and past officer- of numerous professional organizations, including the New York State Society of CPAs, Financial Planning Association, Estate Planning Council, Tax Society of NYU, Institute of Management Accountants, and the Accountant's Club of America.
Outside the office, Warren is an avid fan of local sports teams, an enthusiastic reader of biographies and current events. Beyond his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his immediate family and friends.
